Chiropractic Victim or Victor?

For the next couple of posts, we’ll discuss Monday Morning Choices by David Cottrell. He lists 12, but we’re going to review my favorites.

# 1 – The No Victim Choice (don’t let the past eat your future)!

We’ve got Doctor A, and Doctor B.  Both went to the same school, and graduated with the same GPA.  They both opened their doors the same month in the same town.

Doctor A will typically see 2 new patients per month at best.  He complains that he opened in the wrong area of town.  He also blames his lack of success on insurance companies, the unemployment rate and the health care crisis.  He frequently plays on the internet in his office while he waits for patients to come in.

Doctor B averages 30 new patients per month.  He is looking for an associate and considering opening a satellite clinic.  If he has any down time, he gets out into his community to do talks and screenings.

Character debate – Part 2

Picking up again where we left off last time ~

What if you’re not a Christian?  Let’s put public situations aside.  What do you do when no one is watching?

Do you act a certain way in front of friends and then when you’re alone or with family, you’re different?  Do you talk out of both sides of your face?  Don’t you agree that what you do behind closed doors tells whether or not you are a person of character?  Take a good look at yourself.  Are there things you should change?  If you are a Christian, you KNOW you’ll have to answer for these things on judgment day. And if you’re not…..well I won’t get into the reasons why you SHOULD BE…..but let’s just say what kind of example do you hope to be to your children or generations after you if you have no character?

Character debate – Part 1

Character.

There’s a lot behind that one simple word.  I’m focusing on the the character that goes along with the definition “the combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person, group or thing from another” and “moral or ethical strength“.

Have you given much thought to what kind of character you have?  What are you made of?  I’ve come across many people in my life that I’m sure have never thought about this because character is a major thing they lacked.

(Warning ~ this might end up being a bit of a different angle than my other blogs).

Need help in your chiropractic practice?

I’m hoping you read the last blog about the chiropractor that lost all hope and the state of our profession.  I know today was supposed to be on character, but we’ll do that next time.  I wanted to let everyone know about a special opportunity available on a first come first served basis.

It’s all in the Roots Chiropractors – Part 3

You would not be the person you are today without your past experiences.  Good or bad, whether you were hurt or you hurt others.  Our experiences are there for us to learn from.  If we’re smart, we’ll grow from them.  Don’t be ashamed of and hide in a dark corner because of where you used to be or for that matter, where you currently are!  Our heavenly Father is there to forgive our sins if you let Him.  Be proud of where you are today.  Maybe you’ve made it through some horrible situation.  Don’t bury it.  Remember it.  You could be a blessing to others simply by sharing your story with them.

It’s all in the Roots Chiropractors – Part 2

We start out as an embryo.  Our childhood forms the root system which eventually brings us into mature adulthood as a flourishing tree for all to see.  What the world sees now is the large tree.  What they don’t see is what is hidden beneath the surface. This is also what we, ourselves, forget about often times.  We think what is in the mirror is all there is.  We need to remember our root system, where we came from.

Ten signs you’re an optimist.

1.   Optimists are seldom surprised by trouble (they understand the ebbs and flows).

2.  They look for solutions (they’re not consumed by their problems).

3.  They believe they have control over their future (Life is not just a bunch of coincidences).

Perspective……..for Chiropractors – Part 3

You may want to re-read the last post before continuing.

Sarah gets to bed later than usual Sunday night due to a surprise visit from family.  She is so blessed to have a close knit family that is there for each other no matter what.

She had a night full of interrupted sleep.  Yes, her husband keeps her awake often from his snoring, but she would rather listen to that every night as opposed to him not being there.  Her kids wake her frequently, but she doesn’t mind.  They tried for 15 years unsuccessfully to get pregnant, when they finally did.

Perspective………for Chiropractors – Part 2

Let’s talk about an example on perspective.

Sarah gets to bed later than usual Sunday night, due to a surprise visit from her brother and his family.  She has a night full of interrupted sleep.  As if her husband snoring in her ear isn’t bad enough, all four of her kids woke her up at one point or another.

The cat jumped on her twice and the dog barked at an imaginary noise once.  Early Monday morning, she hit her snooze alarm too many times.

Perspective……….for Chiropractors – Part 1

The first two definitions of perspective in thefreedictionary.com is “A view or vista.  A mental view or outlook”.

Your perspective on a particular topic is subject to change at any given moment.  The trick is to keep your perspective in check with everything else that goes on around you.  What is your outlook on life in general?  Are you a glass half empty person?  Or do you see the glass as half full?

You might say, “Well Dr. Chris, of course I’m a glass half full type of person.  I read motivational books all of the time.  I try to see the best everyone”.  Is that true?
