There IS hope!

I’m going to go a different direction with this blog.  I think this will be a message that many need to hear.  Yes, it is Christian based.  If you don’t like it, sorry, but maybe it’s something you should pay attention to.

Uncertain times.  Recession.  Unemployment.  Tough times.  Bad market.  Layoffs.

How many times throughout your day do you read or hear things like these?  Ever heard that what you put in you will get out?  Garbage in = garbage out?  Whether it’s true or not, what you focus on you will attract.  How do you begin your day?  Is it by watching the morning news?  Are you listening to talk radio discussing current events on your way to the office?

Character debate – Part 2

Picking up again where we left off last time ~

What if you’re not a Christian?  Let’s put public situations aside.  What do you do when no one is watching?

Do you act a certain way in front of friends and then when you’re alone or with family, you’re different?  Do you talk out of both sides of your face?  Don’t you agree that what you do behind closed doors tells whether or not you are a person of character?  Take a good look at yourself.  Are there things you should change?  If you are a Christian, you KNOW you’ll have to answer for these things on judgment day. And if you’re not…..well I won’t get into the reasons why you SHOULD BE…..but let’s just say what kind of example do you hope to be to your children or generations after you if you have no character?

Character debate – Part 1

Character.

There’s a lot behind that one simple word.  I’m focusing on the the character that goes along with the definition “the combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person, group or thing from another” and “moral or ethical strength“.

Have you given much thought to what kind of character you have?  What are you made of?  I’ve come across many people in my life that I’m sure have never thought about this because character is a major thing they lacked.

(Warning ~ this might end up being a bit of a different angle than my other blogs).

Chiropractors ~ Are you disgusted YET?

This is more important than my “character” discussion, but I guess it also comes into play here.   I just heard devastating news about a chiropractor that committed suicide!  He left behind five children with one on the way.  How bad was his outlook that he felt his only option was to end his life??  How long did it take until he finally lost all hope?  I can’t imagine what he must have been going through and my prayers go out to his family that was left behind.

Does this send a jolt to your system?  Do you get a shiver up your spine?   Are you disgusted?  Will something like this wake us up?

It’s all in the Roots Chiropractors – Part 3

You would not be the person you are today without your past experiences.  Good or bad, whether you were hurt or you hurt others.  Our experiences are there for us to learn from.  If we’re smart, we’ll grow from them.  Don’t be ashamed of and hide in a dark corner because of where you used to be or for that matter, where you currently are!  Our heavenly Father is there to forgive our sins if you let Him.  Be proud of where you are today.  Maybe you’ve made it through some horrible situation.  Don’t bury it.  Remember it.  You could be a blessing to others simply by sharing your story with them.

Are you leaving a chiropractic legacy?

I know I said this time we’d get into mission statements, but I’ve had a change of heart.  I was looking at some video of our kids that was taken a couple of years ago & it got me thinking about what kind of legacy will I leave for my kids.  Have you considered this?  What kind of example do you set – whether you have children or not?

I’m sure many of us weren’t raised in ideal situations.  I’m talking about the fairytale family, like what the Cleavers used to portray (or if you grew up in the 70′s-80′s like me – - maybe the Cunningham family!).

Chiropractors, Do You Value What You Do? – Part 2

Picking up where we left off last time………..even though I don’t see the value in the air filtration system, my friend does.  He paid a lot of money to have that installed in his home. Although I think it’s crazy to pay over $1700 to replace some filters, obviously, the installer did not.

It’s the same in your chiropractic practice. Maybe someone in the general public thinks it’s outrageous to pay over $100 for x-rays or $40 for an office visit.  Maybe they think it’s ridiculous to come in for more than one adjustment after the pain goes away.

What do you, as the doctor, think?  What value do you place on yourself and what you offer?  Are you confident that you’re worth $40 or so dollars per visit?

Chiropractors are like crabs in a bucket – Part 2

Picking up where we left off last time ~

What if that person was someone that YOU would have encountered later in life and they would have had a positive impact on YOU?  What if your life lacked blessings as a result?  And the cycle could go on & on.

Anyway, this friend was challenged by his chiropractic board because of a statement in his ad that talked about a study supporting chiropractic.  What’s wrong with this picture?

Perspective…….for Chiropractors – Part 4

Do what you need to do to make a change.  Start with the “man in the mirror” (as MJ says).  Change your thoughts.  Change your ways.

Use affirmations.  Read them at least seven times throughout the day.  Post them in places you will see the positive words frequently, so if you start to slide down the hill again you can stop yourself before you’re in the ditch.

Chiropractors Eating Their Young! Where’s The Love?

I didn’t plan for one of my first few posts to take this direction, but the events of yesterday are directing the path.

I encountered a doctor (let’s call him Dr. 25), who is very active in his chiropractic community and politics for many years. Rather than using his abilities and connections to better the profession, he spends his time bashing other chiropractors trying to do just that.

Not only are his claims unfounded and drastically incorrect, but he is trying to lead his colleagues in the wrong direction. It appears his distaste from other chiropractors arose from a debate he lost a number of years ago.
